Week 33 ...In the flash of lightning I saw...

Memories
Melisa stroked the soft fur of her toy tiger. It was her only memory of her mother. The orphanage was horrible. Melisa’s father had died at war. After her father’s death her mother could no longer afford to keep Melisa so she was dropped at the orphanage. Melisa was now 11. Her birthday was today.
“Melisa,” a soft voice called.
Someone gently swung the door open.
“Hi Matilda,” Melissa replied. Matilda looked at Melisa’s teary face.
“Melisa, did you know I once came to this orphanage? It was on my 11th birthday. There was a thunderstorm. One time I looked up into the sky and in the flash of lightning I saw my mother. The sky seemed to show me various pictures of me and my mother,” Matilda said softly.

Melisa gazed up into the sky. Maybe, just maybe, the same would happen to her.

Picture prompt week  32
Paper disaster

The academy’s bronze oak doors shone like freshly polished copper.
In the art room Lola cut  a piece of the newspaper and measured it. Lola chucked it in the bin then chucked some glue and string in too.
Sometimes I hate art,” Lola muttered to herself.
Suddenly a large shape started growing out of the bin. It had absorbed everything in there.
It stormed over to one of the art projects which was a cement wall with a plank of wood down the middle. It had a real burger hanging from a thin wire. The monster swiftly turned invisible. 10 seconds later you could see its sticky newspaper hands sticking through the cement. It grasped the burger and made sure it went through the wood. It swallowed the burger whole but…

The monster blew up so everyone was covered in glue and paper.

Week-30 ...I just couldn’t eat something so…

Holidays aren’t always fun

Caroline shivered. She was standing in front of her wealthy grandparents mansion. Her parents had forced her to come here. Caroline’s eyes ran across the gleaming building. The wood was polished and it shone in the late autumn sun. The wind brushed against her face as her hands reached towards the door bell. A butler opened the door.
“Miss, we have been expecting you. Follow me. It’s time for dinner.” The butler told her.
When the first course came she gasped.
“Why aren’t you eating your food?” her grandma asked
“I just couldn’t eat something so beautiful. It's like a piece of art”.
Suddenly Caroline screamed. She was never seen again.

Week-29 ...the slime dripped through...

Death and life

Allison gingerly crept forwards. She had to try and sneak out of the old rotting manor her
half-dead grandma lived in. She thought the house might be haunted. Suddenly her door swung open. A voice echoed through the empty manor.
“Child, are you leaving so soon?”
Suddenly she heard a groan. She looked out the window. She saw zombies creeping out of their grave. Hand by hand, foot by foot. Allison knew there was a barrel of poisonous slime above her room. She glanced up. The slime dripped through the rotten timber. She gasped. She was going to die!
The sun slowly started to rise above the horizon.
The creatures can’t hurt me in the sun! She leapt out the window.

Week 24

The history of the temple

‘How the jungle temple was created we may never know ’ Caroline told Shaylen as they walked to the  temple’s living quarters.
‘Then who was the first to find the temple? Like, you know, the founder.’
‘Hmmm… There should be a scroll somewhere in the living quarters’ Caroline said.
As they walked through the door. They hunted through the scrolls.
‘Yes’ Shaylen exclaimed. It says:

Thomas Kutz is the founder of the jungle temple. One sunny afternoon Sir Kutz was wandering around a park when he saw a giant hand reaching out of the ground. It seemed to be emerging from the ground. He walked to the center of the hand and was teleported to the flaming temple.

Suddenly Shaylen and Caroline heard a growl.

Week-23 gingerly, yellow, discovered, however, remarkable

Fang

Fang is a midnight black tom-cat with yellow eyes that glow like poison in the dark. The legend says that the treasure hunters that lived in the temple had killed his family, and then Fang died of grief. But this story is going to prove that legend wrong.

Fang lept onto the cold hard stone. He had discovered the temple again at remarkable speed. He put his paw against the stone. On the corner of the wall a portal appeared. He jumped into the portal which teleported him to a obstacle course. The course tested his skills and spirit. He cleared most the obstacles quickly. However on the final obstacle he held his breath and then, gingerly, he walked forward.
“ I will get revenge” he whispered.

Week 22- laughter

Laughter in the temple

Shaylen shivered. The lights had been out for over 3 hours. She couldn't believe what she had got herself into. A tear rolled down her cheek.

On the other side of the temple Caroline heard Shaylen and her desperate weeps .
Caroline had wandered into the temple looking for her mom. Her Mom was a treasure hunter. She had fallen down a pipe that led to the abandoned temples living quarter.

Next to her a bright spark of fire appeared!
“Yay!” Shaylen whooped with joy.
“Shaylen, I heard your voice. Let's have some fun! I brought my guitar plus some food!” Caroline said.
Throughout the night laughter filled the empty temple.

Week 21 - ...suddenly all the lights went out..

Flaming temple

There was no light in the night’s darkness.  Suddenly two bright sparks of light appeared. The lights were fire…

A young girl named Shaylen was lost in the forest wilderness. Suddenly she saw the spark of fire! Maybe someone lives in this forest Shaylen thought.
Shaylen ran towards the fire. That’s when this little girl Shaylen found the flaming temple.

Shaylen was a brave girl. She looked at the sky. She could tell the clouds were coming. She took a deep breath and walked inside the temple. The walls were full of paintings and statues.

Suddenly the lights went out….
